  • This market resolves to "Yes" if, by 31 December 2026, 23:59 Manila time, ASEAN and China officially announce that negotiations on the Code of Conduct in the South China Sea have been concluded, or that the Code has been adopted or signed. The announcement must appear in an official ASEAN document (a Chairman's Statement, joint statement or ASEAN Secretariat release) or be stated by both China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Philippines' Department of Foreign Affairs. It counts whether or not the code is legally binding, and whether or not ratification is still pending.
  • The following do not count: "Substantial conclusion" or "substantially concluded" negotiations, Finishing a "reading" of the draft text., An "agreement in principle", or agreeing a framework or guidelines, Statements that talks are "nearly complete" or "in the final stage", Announcing a new target date.
  • Otherwise, this market resolves to "No".
